CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION AND PEACEBUILDING(CTP)
The CTP program works towards the sustained integration of peace education in Mindanao schools including the promotion of conflict transformation among its partner organizations through various strategies such as research, development education, networking and advocacy campaigns. The program seeks to achieve these goals through linking local peace advocacies with regional solidarity initiatives for conflict transformation and peacebuilding; popularization of the peoples' agenda for peace and development among civil society organizations; integration of peace education in secondary schools; and enhancement of partners' capabilities towards conflict transformation.
The program believes in a people-centered, inclusive, just and sustainable peace and development framework for its Mindanao peoples. Such vision of development is empowering rather than enslaving, envisions a redistribution of political and economic power, and respects peoples' inherent capacities to make their own decisions and choices to achieve a quality of life in keeping with their own aspirations. Its framework for attaining peace is holistic – encompasses various aspects of human development – economic, socio-cultural, political, and spiritual - and is based on an underlying principle of gender equality, human rights and justice, and the integrity of all creation.
The program also seeks to promote conflict transformation as a process that envisions social conflict as opportunities towards creating constructive change in both personal level and in the pursuit of justice and equality in the social system through elimination of oppression, improved sharing of resources, and the nonviolent resolution of conflict between groups of people.
